So I have finished vet school

On Friday I sat my last vet school exam. I'm pretty certain I'll pass everything (knock on wood) so now I'm like.... Done. I'm sitting the NAVLE this coming Friday, and I need to pass that for jobs I've applied for in the US and Canada, but for NZ I'm done. As soon as I get confirmation that I passed I can be a vet. Which is SO WEIRD.

I'm going to change my URL at some point but because I still have no idea what I'll be doing next year I'm just waiting so I can choose something relevant... Watch this space!!!

Basically this is a PSA to remind all the vet students out there that someday vet school will end - it will be the most terrifying and elating moment of your life. Enjoy the journey guys ♥️

Finished the first round of tests today! Still waiting on the Anatomy test score (which was promised to be released today) but I'm overall happy with my scores. I guess I learned how to better prep myself for tests and doing a little bit at a time and not procrastinating did not actually work for me. I don't advocate cramming but there's got to be middle ground - like semi-procrastination. How ironic is it that the class I actually kept up with might actually be one of my lower scores?

I’m clearly avoiding studying for my biochemistry exam on Monday so I went and roasted the pork tenderloin I bought this week. I rubbed it down with Dijon mustard and then added shallots, garlic, sage, thyme, and rosemary.

My mother brought me up to fear touching raw pork with my bare hands so in my hurry to minimize all the meat touching, I forgot to salt and pepper it. It didn’t need pepper in the end but I went and added a little salt.

Turned out pretty good. A little too done but I’ll work my way up until I can accurately gauge when something is done (or I can stop being a poor student and go buy a thermometer or something).

Anyway, time to go focus on erythrocytes or something before the med school & vet school mixer.
