If you're here, you're either lost, or you're exactly where you want to be.

I've gone by many names over many journeys, but you can call me Vex Takor.

I'm an LGBT+ author making LGBT+ stories for all types of adults and young adults alike. My goal is to wrap personal themes of self discovery, generational trauma, self-acceptance, and finding your place in the world in a blanket of fantasy, monsters, and supernatural tales that would be right at home in an animated series.

When I'm not writing, I work as a freelance illustrator and animator. I love cats and their criminal ways, my favorite food to make is soup, and my ambition in life is to have a physical copy of my book(s), "Find Your Wings," in my hands in the next five years. I wanted to make an animated series, but a book is much more affordable. ;>

Find Your Wings is about the meek owner of a local hang-out club that has the spirit of a monster. When someone finds out his secret, he has to fight for proof that he has a reason to exist, or risk losing everything that gives his life meaning.

Full of mystery, magic, laughs, and deeply personal themes of self-discovery, it is my hope that Find Your Wings finds its place in a few hearts.

Open to 'ask blog'-type questions!

I never made it clear that this blog is open to 'ask blog' type asks, huh?

I love answering questions that are addressed to my characters, since you can get a lot of fun interactions out of that! So if you ever have something you wanna ask the cast of FYW [or you just want to find out something about one of the characters], the ask box is always open! You don't have to come up with anything super specific- vague questions are always fine! [Ex: who's the most likely to X?]

I can't answer spoilery things, obviously, but I won't get mad if people ask those sorts of questions since it's hard to tell from an outside perspective what is and isn't spoilers. So don't hold back! I'll likely do doodles for the responses as well, if the inspiration strikes me! ;3

I don’t know if this is weird to say but you’re an inspiration for my creativity!

I haven’t been able to make anything for a while but I have stories I want to tell and seeing you just lore and inspo dump for your story makes me want to do the same!

Is it okay to follow your lead?

The story is my own but like I can’t get myself to take even the first step out of like my comfort zone.

Can I mimic what your doing in the sense that like of your posting about different wings oh let me post about my characters tail or just something of the same vein.

Following someone else’s footsteps is a lot easier then making my own right now lol

But if not that’s okay still want to let you know really like your story can’t wait to see more of it!

Sharing my characters/lore/story is not something that anyone owns- so of course you should go for it! Genuinely- once you just start spouting about your characters and stuff that makes you happy, without caring about if people interact or not, you'll attract the right people. The important part is not getting bummed when it takes a while for those people to find you. Be patient! And go be self-indulgent <3

It's also nice to use as a journal for your future self to look at :>

The only thing to keep in mind is not to copy anyone's methods TOO closely- to the point where the two of you would be mistaken. I have a friend currently dealing with a copy-cat that's been hounding her for 2 years and it's really disheartening to have people mistake someone else for you. So just make sure that while you use someone for a spring-board, make sure you don't copy their methods too closely! It's best to take inspiration from multiple sources so you become a unique mixture of different sources.~
