My personal goal was to go into the tournament to see what everyone else was using and to find a better team because imo this one isn’t the best as it has several autolosses that I can’t figure out how to deal with and the speed tiers were a bit iffy, but I came out of the 40-man tournament with 5 wins and 1 loss. So, it performed better than expected. But also I didn’t run into the things I was worried about so :/
Frankly I’m considering changing Excadrill’s Brick Break-> Rock Slide so that Max Rockfall will allow it to set up sand by itself and not be overly reliant on Tyranitar, and to change U-turn on Braviary to Tailwind as the team desperately needs speed control apart from Excadrill. Potentially, I might consider using Rock Tomb on Scrafty as well for the same speed control issues.
Orrr I could just change the team and use something else i’ve been planning...
Anyway I’m pleasantly surprised by how well this team worked out, especially since I was relying more on my comfort zone (mons I’ve used before that I know very well) rather than the newer strategies that I should prooobably convert to.
All in all, I’m glad I had the chance to play with them. And Hyper Beam random things and watch the face of horror on my opponents’ faces.
