It's been a while since I've posted anything, here you guys go.

Imagine being a black mage in medieval Ivalice. Your country has been devastated through a war that you lost. Or rather, your nobles lost. But somehow, only you and the other peasants suffer. Though you and many others served honorably in the nobles' war, they now say that they can't afford to pay you. What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore— And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over— like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

I toyed a bit with the FF7 soundfont and decided to adapt a very old video game track of mine. I then realized that some of prelude's chords line up – so here's a little mash-up. Hope you like it!
