here are my suggestions :) as always, additions are welcome, if anyone has any, especially because I might have interpreted cowboy AU a bit laxly, depending on what you're looking for

on the river someday by Redminibike1 (@redminibike1) [locked for logged in users] - 20k long, rated M. In this AU, Cody has to leave his home with his little brothers, and thet run into Obi-Wan, the sheriff of a small town. I wholeheartedly rec this fic, it's beautifully written.

mid-autumn, post-script by cafffine (@cafffine) - a 16k long modern AU, rated T. It's more of a small town setting than western, but Cody is a mule packer. It's also an epistolary (mostly via letters from Cody to Rex), and overall it's just really funny and heartwarming.

Is that another whispered plan? by vhetin [locked for users] - 16k long, rated T, and they're both cowboys. Obi-Wan comes to work with Cody's team, and they quickly realize that there's a spark. So. Much. Flirting. It's a great read, the author did some research and it shows

Still No Rest by t4tlambert (@t4tlambert) - 5k long one shot, they're both cowboys, and it's very sweet apart from some angsty flashbacks. Usual idiots in love dynamic, haha

Author’s Summary: It was meant to be a short separation: Qui-Gon would get closer to Mandalorian space, get their informant, and come back. Easy. Less than ten days apart. That was, of course, before the dustbowl of a planet Obi-Wan was staying on signed itself over to the Mandalorian Empire. Now, caught up in the Mandalorian takeover with no weapons, no credits, and no contacts, Obi-Wan has to figure out a way back to Republic space and the Jedi. If he doesn't get caught first.

My notes: Fantastic story with a young Obi Wan, just after Melida/Dann, who is taken prisoner by Mandos. Literally kept me up half the night, desperate to reach the totally unexpected ending. Some great Whump!Ben, and a lovely, atypical characterization of a young Jango.
