( @ofviictories ) Theirs was an unlikely friendship, still new, still getting used to one another. Conrad had friends, loads of them, but most only took him in doses. And that was fine because Conrad did not have that much time for them anyway. But Victoria- he found himself trying to make time for her when she showed up. Conrad had heard things about her, sure, had been told things about her, but he was a firm believer that everyone needed a friend. And he could be that friend if she needed. He wasn’t afraid of her, but he hadn’t even let his mind wander to that. So he treated her like the rest of his friends- with all of the kindness and positive energy he could muster up at that given moment.
“So like, Spider-man, while cool, isn’t a mutant. Neither are the Fantastic Four. Because they were exposed to the elements that gave them their abilities later in life. It can happen to anyone, if they’re lucky, or unlucky, enough. We were born with the x-gene. Genetic. There’s a little bit of research that says the gene comes from the father’s side of the family but- I’m not sure how much I buy into that.”
