for a while ive wanted to see if anyone properly isolated/recreated dimentios teleport/warp sfx because its SUPER iconic imo so i went scouring online trying to find the source, i found One component of it from the sound effects wikia (which. exists for some reason) but it was only the first part and was missing that like. airy ripple effect after he appears/disappears.
whats a guy to do? obviously the next fucking step is to download a fucking zip containing all 900 goddamn sfx files within spm. as one does. i combed through it by searching for 'teleport' and 'warp', warp brought up all the wrong results while teleport brought up nothing at all. i tried searching by name, 'dimentio' and 'dimen' brought up nothing too. my last resort was searching 'magic' and lo and fucking behold. his sfx were under the name 'demen' instead!
i looked thru the sounds and found the warp sounds themselves but was STILL missing that fucking ripple effect which is what i failed to find online. i click on the last one (DEMEN_HAMON1) and im like what the shit is this sound ? ive never heard this in game before. but i listen closer and its the exact goddamn ripple noise i need, just at a higher speed+pitch, so i chuck it into audacity and lower the speed by 50% and its THE EXACT FUCKING SOUND!!!!
