vicecolder commented on yvesdot's post “One of the darker aspects of writeblr is how much it encourages showy...”
This is just an honest piece of feedback. Is not your post a bit of showy writing? The ultimate show is to talk about not being showy. (To be real about it, I’m making a double meaning point by me writing this showy reply as well HaHa!! Come on now, give me a little credit 4 creativity on my part)
Mostly, my post is a tangent about how you don’t have to stop producing content that gets a lot of likes on tumblr if it makes you feel good or helps your writing process, but spending too much time on periphery of writing - playlists, character quizzes, moodboards, memes - can reduce the amount of time you actually have to write. Also, I think you may have confused “showy writing” with “talking about my self.” Which, as a reasonable adult, I am perfectly comfortable with doing if I think it’s remotely helpful or topical; after all, nobody who thinks I’m bragging about spending more time on putting words in a document than hoarding aesthetics on pinterest by pointing out that there are 24 hours in a day and most of us have only a handful of those to split between writing and other things that bring us enjoyment needs to read it.
