❛  𝐖𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐀 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐄.  ❜   she  says  as  she  enters  the  room,  diadem  still  sitting  and  glowing  on  her  head.     ❛   hera,  i’m  telling  her  right  now,  if  you  would  just   ---   ❜     she  curses,  ripping  the  tiara  off  to  cut  off  the  goddess’  ranting  in  her  head.     ❛   apparently,  since  we’re  turning  twenty  -  one,  we’re  supposed  to  go  on  some  kind  of   “hero’s  quest”   like  hercules  or  something.  how  do  you  think  we’re  gonna  manage  a  hero’s  quest  with  a  three  month  old?   ❜     she  looks  down  at  zachariah,  fast  asleep  in  his  crib.  boo,  who’s  laying  beside  the  crib,  raises  his  middle  head  at  viviana,  undoubtably  intrigued  by  the  mention  of  a  quest.  it  has  been  a  while  since  they’ve  slain  any  monsters   ---   viviana  feels  the  itch,  too.     ❛   anyway,  the  quest  is  supposed  to  be  a  trial  to  determine  if  we’re  worthy  of  one  day  ruling  on  mount  olympus.   ❜     the  older  twin  shrugs.

SHE  KNOWS  VIENNA’S  NEAR  BEFORE  SHE  SEES  HER,   or  hears  her,  when  her  fist  connects  with  the  punching  bag  and  it  goes  flying  across  the  room,  bursting  open  at  the  seams,  sand  going  everywhere.  and  this  tells  her  vienna’s  close  because  her  strength  only  gets  out  of  control  when  there’s  a  vampire  near   ---   and  she’s  threatened  the  salvatores  with  their  lives;  she’s  not  jeremy  gilbert,  she  has  no  merciful  feelings  towards  them,  so  she’s  pretty  confident  that  neither  of  them  would  dare  show  their  faces  around  her.  but  vienna   ---   oh,  vienna.  meredith’s  heart  aches  as  she  thinks  of  her,  longingly.  she  tried  to  break  up  with  her  and  be  done  with  it,  but  of  course  vienna  wouldn’t  let  it  go,  let  her  go,  that  easily.  even  if  it  meant  putting  her  life  in  danger.

❛   you’re  killing  me,  vie.   ❜     it’s  practically  a  cry.  meredith  doesn’t  have  to  turn  around  to  know  she’s  standing  right  behind  her,  she  can  feel  her   ---   every  cell  in  her  body  is  screaming,  and  it  takes  all  the  strength  she  can  muster  to  not  fulfill  her  purpose  as  a  slayer,  as  a  hunter  of  the  five.  but  if  she  stands  with  her  back  to  her,  if  she  doesn’t  look  at  her,  meredith  can  just  contain  herself.  she  can  just  hold  herself  back.  it’s  harder  than  imaginable,  and  exhausting,  but  she  keeps  up  her  stillness.  just  barely.     ❛   for  the  love  of   ---   please  go,  vienna.  i  can’t   ---   i  can’t  do  this  ---   ❜

𝑽𝑰𝑽𝑰𝑨𝑵𝑨 𝑯𝑨𝑫 𝑭𝑨𝑺𝑯𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑬𝑫 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑴 𝑬𝑨𝑪𝑯 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑰𝑹 𝑶𝑾𝑵 𝑺𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑫,  and  they  were  sparring  in  a  clearing  not  too  far  from  camp  when  vienna  sweeps  octavia’s  feet  out  from  under  her.

she  lands  on  her  back  with  a  thud!  and  a  groan,  and  before  she  knows  it,  vienna’s  on  top  of  her,  straddling  her  hips,  keeping  her  pinned  to  the  ground.  the  ark’s  other  secret  child  tosses  octavia’s  sword  away,  and  then  her  own,  too,  and  octavia  looks  up  at  her  with  a  furrowed  brow. 

❛   what  are  you   —   ❜     she  starts,  but  before  she  can  get  any  more  words  out,  vienna  leans  down  and  captures  octavia’s  lips  in  a  kiss.  one  that  the  raven  -  haired  beauty  is  all  too  eager  to  return.  she  brings  her  hands  up  to  cup  vie’s  cheeks,  kissing  her  deeply,  furiously,  kissing  her  until  her  lips  are  sore  and  her  lungs  ache  for  air.  still,  she  stretches  the  kiss  out  until  the  last  possible  second. 

and,  she  swears,  it  physically  hurts  to  tear  herself  away  from  her  girlfriend.  and  once  she  can  breathe  again,  she’s  leaning  up,  peppering  quick  kisses  against  vienna’s  lips.     ❛   i  love  you,  i  love  you.   ❜     octavia  breathes  in  between  kisses.     ❛   you  are  the  most  beautiful,  amazing  person  i’ve  ever  known.  you’re  the  only  one  who  understands  what  i  went  through.  sometimes,  i  think  you’re  the  only  one  who  understands  me.  i’m  in  awe  of  you.  and  i  want  to  spend  the  rest  of  my  life  with  you.   ❜

SHE’S  RUMMAGING  AROUND  THE  ROOM,   gathering  her  discarded  clothes  that  lay  here,  there,  and  everywhere  from  being  torn  off  during  the  heat  and  desperation  to  get  each  other  naked  last  night.  and  she  barely  spares  a  glance  over  her  shoulder  when  she  hears  vienna  awaken  as  she  looks  under  a  chair  for  her  left  boot.  she  doesn’t  even  give  a  second  thought  to  the  fact  that  she’s  still  completely  naked   ---   her  shame  must’ve  turned  off  with  the  rest  of  her  humanity,  and  all  of  her  emotions.     ❛   do  you  see  a  very  stylish,  very  expensive  boot  anywhere?   ❜     allison  ponders,  finally  turning  to  face  vienna  with  a  grin.     ❛   oh!  there  it  is!   ❜     she  says  as  she  notices  peeking  out  from  under  the  bed,  and  she  leans  down  to  grab  it,  tossing  it  on  her  pile  of  clothes.  the  boot  makes  the  last  of  her  things.     ❛   well,  last  night  was  fun.  i’m  glad  you  decided  to  come  out  with  me.  i  needed  some  decent  sex,  and  you  were  so  much  more  than  just  decent.   ❜
