samantha chose to be impassive most of the time ; choosing that it was better to be still than to share emotions that would be targeted against her. but sam was walking down a dark alley, almost dizzy from the way her heart thudded rapidly in her chest. the soft sound of snarls were prominent in her ears, like a lion feeding on it’s prey.
feeling a sanguine, sticky substance beneath her shoes, sam followed the trail like bread crumbs. letting it lead her further into the alley until she seen the way the moonlight illuminated devon’s face. grime dripped from his face, and his predatory eyes were locked on her, like a gun locked on a target.
the gun that was in sam’s hand lowered, her hazel hues widen at the sight of devon so ... animalistic. ‘ devon ...
samantha feared that she was far too late. that if she tried to run now, he would catch up to her, knock her down, and her life would over in a blink of an eye. but then again ... was that so bad? a quick, painless death? still, she thread with caution, extending a free hand out like she would to a stray dog, showing him that she meant no harm.
‘ it’s okay.
