Hey how can jekyll be a pretentious guy, but be nice (if you've spent enough time around him)?? For some reason I can't picture how he can be nice, but still be full of himself..
jekyll's rare outward acts of kindness tend to manifest themselves scientifically. you could view these acts as him simply flaunting his intelligence as usual, but considering how stingy he is with his time, it's clear that he doesn't take on side-projects for just anyone.
