Dear Commodore...
You fucked up.
This is my first modem. It ran at 300 bps. My connection right now is 9,962,472 bos. #vicmodem #vic20 #telephoneinterfacecartridge
The only Commodore modem more primitive than the Model 1600 is the acoustic coupler modem from the PET era. You have to manually plug the handset cord into the modem. It lacks any kind of on-board dialing ability, which makes sense since it can’t go on/off hook like later modems they produced.
Oh, and you can’t use your nice Commodore branded Northern Telecom rotary phone with this. Nope, because the cord is integrated to the body/handset and cannot be unplugged. Way to fuck it up, Commodore.

Just look at all the things you can do with a VICMODEM!
