Goodbye Glee...
I’ve been watching Glee since I was 15 and I don’t think any other piece of media has brought me as much annoyance, heartache, or joy and I don’t know that anything else ever will. Or not quite in the way that Glee has. I’ve been in fandom long enough (ten years, man) to know that what I’ve had with Glee is something very, very special.
I am an obsessive person, yes. I latch on to things, particularly TV. But Glee...Glee has held my attention and my heart for the longest. 6 years. More than half a decade I’ve laughed and cried and screamed about this damn show.
I have a ton of things I could say about Glee and it’s message. How important it is as a pop culture phenomenon (even if in some ways it’s going out with more of a whimper than a bang). How important it is in terms of acceptance (culturally but also personally). But what I am most emotional about (besides the end of the canon journey of several of all-time favorite characters) is the relationships I’ve made because of Glee.
You all know who you are. My college experience and my life wouldn’t be the same without you guys. I bonded with you through Glee but you as people have made my life that much brighter and better and I am so, so thankful that I found you through this beautiful disaster of a show.
I will probably cry tonight. But what I’ll be thinking about tomorrow and for all the days to come, is how much joy, and yes, glee, this show has brought me.

the *only* reason i forgive sara bareilles for not singing "let the rain" at her concert is because she sang the most beautiful cover of sia's "chandelier" in existence.
