defiance // victari flashback
This was the third time in one week that their teacher had decided to show them the slideshow presentation of the global effects smoking had on the economy. Lights were dimmed, everyone lowered their elbows onto their desks and leaned forward, and the teacher began to drone on about percentages and life stories that they’d already heard before. It wasn’t that Victoria didn’t care, but she didn't. She actually quite enjoyed smoking, and would do it regardless of the economy. An assignment would likely be due early the next week on the presentation, but she’d already taken her notes, and would have to sit in boredom each time it was replayed. She was a sophomore in a junior class, and she found it relatively easy. She was not challenged nor stressed with the class. But the main reason of her irritation was the fact that she was not the only one sitting in boredom. There was one other. She was just the only person slightly content to sit there in boredom. Something hit her on the back of her head; ricocheting back from the impact and landing on the ground behind her chair. She didn’t need to look to see who had thrown it- she knew very well- but if she didn’t, then worse would happen.
