SEPTEMBER 23, 2889 ENTRY 001 I have undergone every discomfort to reach the moment of Paddle Star’s inaugural flight. This intergalactic fighter serves as both the culmination of the greatest cognitive neuroscience and my own dire desperation. Basically, I’ve allowed these titans of technological accomplishment to rip my being apart and put it back together at will. I’m not a martyr, nor do I share an interest in necessarily maintaining the Earth’s harmony. This fight is personal to me.

They of course are desperate, too, as that pungent, bitter shadow works its way across the galaxy. However, I cannot help but notice that they use the circumstances to hide their utter disregard for me and the dozens of predecessors who lie jabbering in the medical ward.

It doesn’t matter. I only need to survive long enough.
