Crimeverse. Again ! Will you recognize all the quotes, or will you end up like Michael ?
It all started with a simple sentence. Michael was busy killing the last guards, (Y / N) stealing the important data on the big boss's computer and Duncan was having fun with a poor trainee who had the misfortune to be there. They did not leave any witnesses, but Duncan liked to make them think they had a chance. But this one was not fooled. The boy kept looking at the exit, as if thinking about a plan to run away. Duncan pulled out his pistol and placed it on his temple. "In here, I have six little friends and they can not run faster than you can." (Y / N) laughed. Not Michael. He did not see what was funny. Then, once the data was recovered and everyone was dead, they went back to the office. The car was driving fast, and Duncan was playing zigzags on the road. As he took a very tight turn, (Y / N) shouted, "Yippikayeah, mother fucker !" raising her arms. Duncan and she burst out laughing. Michael still did not understand. Later in the day, while they were all three relaxing in a good bath after this long day, (Y / N), half asleep, looked at them smiling : "I love you." Duncan, playing with Michael's hair, replied, "I know." This answer seemed to satisfy (Y / N). Michael was totally lost.
Duncan did not take long to notice that Michael did not understand anything when they were quoting movies. Yet that made perfect sense : Michael had been brought up by his grandmother, a tough and strict woman who put education and success above all else. Michael had never been allowed to watch television. Then, when he had started in business, he had not thought about catching up by buying DVDs. It was a waste of time. And when he met Duncan, they were too busy working or fucking to go to the movies. Duncan had decided to make fun of him. Nicely. He had put (Y / N) in the confidence and they had fun testing Michael, to see if he spotted the quotes, and if he could guess the movie. Some replicas were famous, no need to have seen the movie ! (Y / N) started with a difficult one. While they were fighting a small gang that had thought they could surprise them, she said : "You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity." Michael had approved, before seeing Duncan laughing and understanding that they continued their silly game. He had rolled his eyes, hoping they would get tired or that they would quickly run out of quotes. But the two moviegoers had seen a lot of movies, really a lot. One morning (Y / N) was taking a shower and Duncan was still in bed. Michael had approached slowly, to wake him, let say, gently. He had slipped under the covers and started to take off his pants when Duncan opened his eyes. He had looked at him, excited by the scene, and said, "Say hello to my little friend !", stroking his crotch. Michael, upset, had left the room. As they were preparing an important mission and Michael explained all the details, (Y / N) began to stare at him with a funny look. He asked her if she had a question. She said nothing, so he got impatient. "You're talking to me ?" she finally asks, with an innocent look. He had excluded her from the room. Finally, there was the case of the lost parcels. An important cargo had to be thrown into the sea not to be seized by the coast guards, and now they had to try to recover them. They would use the yatch, to go unnoticed, while a team of plungers would recover the material. Duncan had for a long time contemplated their yatch, which he himself had chosen. "You're gonna need a bigger boat." Michael had not thought about it before answering. "It's one of the biggest yachts out there, Duncan. And it's perfect for the mission." Everyone, Duncan (Y / N), and the rest of the team had stared at him. "No Michael...," Duncan whispered, "Not this one. Everyone knows this one." Michael had felt humiliated. But it was the last time...
Duncan returned home, whistling. The day had been good. He had won (stolen) a lot of money, he had not had an appointment too long or too tiring, and he was going to find his two darlings, who were probably waiting for him on the couch. He put his cell phone and gun in the entrance, took out his jacket, and went to drink a glass of whiskey. A small voice was heard from the pantry. "Duncan ? Is that you ?" What was (Y / N) doing in there ? "He left ?" She slowly opened the door, ready to defend herself. "What happened, kitten? " he asked, examining her to see if she was hurt. "Michael attacked me. He said he was fed up ! I took refuge in there, and as he could not break the door, I think he gave up." It did not sound like Michael. But (Y / N) was visibly shaken and terrorized. The sound of the front door made him slightly startled. Michael was there. He really looked mad. But not as usual. He looked almost crazy. And he had his favorite knives in his hands. "Mikey... you do not hurt kitten. We can talk." Michael laughed psychopathically. "Do you think I only want to hurt your dear pet ? Oh Duncan, you're so naive." It was not good. Duncan knew that against Michael, he had no chance. He grabbed (Y / N) by the hand and ran to the weapons room, where they locked themselves. "Where are you running, little pigs ? You can not escape me!" But he could not enter, he did not have the key. Right ? "I'll call reinforcements !" Duncan threatened. "You are adorable ! I have your phone, my little Duncan. No reinforcements. You will not go anywhere."
(Y / N) had collapsed and she was crying. "What are we doing Duncan ?" She was not afraid of Michael. She was afraid of having to fight with him. And to win. They were surrounded by the best weapons. He only had his knives. But neither she nor Duncan wanted to hurt him. "Is it because of the quotes ?" Duncan asked, "We're sorry, we'll stop, promise !" No answer. Not good. There was a crash against the door. Duncan thought that Michael was trying to open it by pushing it with his body, or with a chair. But he quickly understood what it was. An axe. He had gone to get an axe ! Duncan quickly took a gun, intending to shoot him in the leg, then in the shoulder, to immobilize him without killing him. (Y / N) took a knife. "I'm sorry Michael," she said, "We just wanted to laugh, it was not mean." The door was in a bad state. Soon, they could see Michael's face, looking at them with his manic smile. He approached the opening. "Here's Mikey !"
There was a long silence. Then a little nervous laugh, accompanied by tears. "Michael, said softly (Y / N), you're crazy." Duncan stared at them, not understanding. "It's like that," Michael replied, "that we're quoting a movie." Then, very proud of himself, he went to take a shower.
"It's you who pays for the door repairs !" yelled Duncan.
"Duncan, no more quotes in front of him, okay ?"
He thinks.
"Or... Are we making movies marathons for him to understand them ?"
She acquiesced. But why, of the only movies Michael knew, there had to be The Shining ?
