Artwork for our new song.
Here some of the dafts, including the one we actually used.
The song is based on true events, a story of a hooker who wanted to quit but just couldn’t. A sad story, but also a kind of love song. In fact almost the only love song we did so far.
What should it’s cover look like? It’s always a challenge to find something that fits and works at the same time. It may sounds weird, but the best picture isn’t always the best choice.
First of all, it has to look good even in the smallest-or biggest-sice. Than you should be able to read the title. It’s really that simple.
In this case, our first idea was to take something authentic, real photographs of hookers, red light districts, stuff like that. But we soon discovered that the whole thing would become way to “sexy”.
The solution was to use something that shows the milieu without getting too edgy. Toulous-Lautrec was the perfect choice.
