"In the beginning of the XX century there was a carpet's factory in Santa Catalina neighbourhood, not far from the museum, it belonged to my great grandfather. My grandfather continued the tradition of making and drawing carpets by hand with a group of artisans in Sineu village. These drawings are the only traces I got from their amazing works."
El video refleja una acción realizada en 2017 en el Museo de arte Moderno y Contemporáneo de Palma, Es Baluard, qué consiste en una intervención-reubicación de los dibujos y bocetos de la fábrica de mi abuelo Joan Vidal Rosselló, lo poco que se conserva de su legado. Para ello realicé una acción performativa, posicionando y re-situando los materiales originales en diferentes puntos de las salas de exposiciones, estableciendo un diálogo dialogando con el espacio y con las obras de arte contemporáneo pertenecientes a la colección del museo expuestas en ese momento. Separado sólo por algunos metros de las salas en las que mi acción se desarrollaba podía observar y establecer un vínculo espacial, temporal y simbólico con el edificio que albergaba La Alfombrera, el taller-fábrica fundado por mi bisabuelo Josep Vidal Rosselló.
La revalorización del trabajo artesanal y la actualización de un fragmento de memoria familiar que se entreteje de la historia urbanística y laboral de la ciudad de Palma formaron parte de mi investigación plástica y conceptual en esta pieza. La acción fue plasmada en video por la documentalista y realizadora Françoise Polo.
