A sigh escapes me as I stare at him. I know he does not want me to pry, but it's hard not to when his heart is screaming in my ear. There's so much pain there that needs to be discussed, even though his lips stay sewed shut so tightly. "Hold onto my arm" when a devil dances slowly and blows dust off you and your skin and bones. "Can I offer one last dance" 'Before your heart stops'? 

And he's giving me that look once more, that look that says I am bat-shit insane. But he takes my hands, and we move slowly to no music at all. The only thing leading us is the beating of our hearts in my ear. "I might be crazy and I might be wild, but baby I ain't blind. Let me hold your hand, tell me what's on your mind. Baby take your time! Baby, you ain't lookin right." He frowns and goes to pull his hands away, but I hold him tightly - there is no escaping me. "If only I could hold you every day, I could undertake a larger mission. I know that you and I is hard to say, but broken pieces can be whole again." Confusion and anger takes over his face once more. He is angry that I have listened to his heart, but it's impossible not to hear it. "Some things are meant to be. Take my hand, take my whole life too. Vidic, I'm going to protect you with my life and everything I have. Never leave me, and I will never leave you." He pulls away, and this time I let him. There is no more fight in me. I cannot and will not win against an unwilling heart. He wants me to save him deep inside, but he's not ready to admit defeat. He's not ready to know he's weak. 'Before you can bridge the gulf between and embrace him in your arms, bang bang bang....                                         ... He'll shoot you down.'
