She frowned looking at them and biting her lip, “I hate to say I told you so but I did…” She trailed off then kissed each of his red knuckles and held one his hands to her cheek. “Danny, you understand that I’m not saying no because I don’t love you. I’m saying no because I do. I don’t want you to end up hating me.” She explained to him quietly. “If I say yes, you have to promise me that if you ever get done with me, you’ll just tell me so you can leave.” She said to him quietly.
Danny sniffled a bit, looking away from her eyes temporarily. He shook his head, looking at the carpeted floor. His thumb gently rubbed her cheek as she held it to her face, looking back at her, some of the lightness returning to his eyes, almost childlike. "Even though that's never going to happen, I promise. As he leaned on the lockers she looked at him a moment. Just actually looking at him taking it all in. He was more handsome then the boys at the school she had seen. But he did make her very nervous. “I..I’m Kenzie by the way..” she introduced herself finally.

Danny's smile remained as he nodded, leaning against the lockers and running a hand over his slicked back hair. "Yeah, doll. Much better than most of the Socs, by a longshot," Danny complimented. And being more beautiful than a soc was a real compliment to him.
