Fresh tragus piercing with a punk-y little stud

mushroom arepa and avocado fried egg arepa; corn fritters; and beet salad at blend 111, vienna, va. lovely sunday brunch - the beet salad was my fave, bursting with flavor and ginormous blackberries and roasted hazelnuts. the mushroom arepa had fried plantains so was both savory and sweet. the fried egg arepa needed more oomph - the salsa helped a bit as did the tangy salad chockful of ripe yellow gooseberries.

we decided to walk off our breakfast/brunch at meadowlark - lovely paths alongside their ponds. they are setting up lights for the xmas lights show starting next wednesday (that is why there are some cute mushrooms on the lawn).
we then had a very late lunch/snacks at magnolia where we shared some crepes (cheese and spinach), durian bing so (sticky rice and fresh durian and ice cream), strawberry choux creme with strawberry ice cream). we also delighted in their fruity drinks and ice teas!
