Prisoner's Justice Day, August 10th.
One day a year
It's the simplest of sacrifice
To give up eating food
For one day and one night
It's a minimal tribute to pay
A single day fast
Men have died defending your rights
And you act like one day is too much to ask
You try to justify yourselves
And just not eat what the jail supplied
But I think you're missing the point here fellows
And lack respect for those who died
I don't know where you got your thinking
I've never seen candy bars at a hunger strike
If there is one thing I am greatful for today
I'm glad it wasn't you defending our rights
But whatever, I don't want to judge you
I think most of you don't even know
Why it is that your belly stays empty
You just fall in line because someone else says so
