Mark 4:39

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

I will be taking a different approach with this one, instead of a normal devotional I will be giving you a testimony in how this text is keeping me through the chaos of lately.

Alot of stuff happen in life where we just need some inner peace to get through it and that is all, not some joyous celebration or wonderous miracle, sometimes all we need is the inner peace as we wait on God.

lately to keep calm this is one of the few text I keep buried in my heart, when I am stressed, angry, or around other angry people I transport myself, back in time to  imagine what it might have been like; to be in that storm and imagining Jesus calming the storm with an authority but smooth mannerism not worried or stressed and imagining the waves being still and the wind being quiet the thunder and lightning ceasing to be no more, imagining he is calming my thoughts and slowing my heart rate, take a deep breath and meditate on his awesomeness, visualising the whole scene and knowing Jesus is in the vessel of my heart during my stormy days he will one day command it all to be ok.

Colossians 4:2,3 Devo

Colossians 4:2,3

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,

In these times, the end times, prayer is more important than ever we pray with our eyes closed yet me must stay vigilant which is to be watchful, the sight we require is not one of physical sight but of a spiritual sight.

Darkness looms over this world, people are no longer seeking God and people are looking to shut God out, those who try and spread the light of this world will be persecuted directly and indirectly, but we must rejoice in this and give thanks because God continues to carry us through, as we carry the cross following him.

our feet may not be bound in chains, nevertheless; the world is trying to bound our mouths and trying to stop us from spreading the gospel message but through prayer God can break every chain.

Flow of life

Life flows like a stream running through the canals of those who have life

What am I talking about? The essence of living is more than breathing

But even that we struggle with

Cause we rather fill our lungs with polluted O2, and worldly things is what we breathe too

Some look after the scarlet flow of cells in their veins but only for carnal goals in vain

 The living water is what’s needed for our dehydrated soul

But if we don’t wake up and indulge in Jesus

We’ll be unable to stand strong and be whole

Because it’s God’s word which will quench our thirst

To proclaim the word, and seek the kingdom first

 Do we truly keep ourselves alive and say that we live

When all we do is live to die, in a YOLO society,

Cause you say you’re just living but your dying silently

I’m not sure we get it, because our mind gets clouded with confusion

But we need a transfusion of something else from which flows within

It’s the substance of what makes us grow and the answer to how we’ll win

 The living water is what’s needed for our dehydrated soul

But if we don’t wake up and indulge in Jesus

We’ll be unable to stand strong and be whole

Because it’s God’s word which will quench our thirst

To proclaim the word, and seek the kingdom first

 We must keep in view what’s truly true through and through what is transparent and clear Cause everything we hear and see, is not always the reality

The Bible and Holy Spirit is what we must hold on to

Beause when it’s all said and done it’s God we must pursue and answer to

 The living water is what’s needed for our dehydrated soul

But if we don’t wake up and indulge in Jesus

We’ll be unable to stand strong and be whole

Because it’s God’s word which will quench our thirst

Vigilant

In this world of instability where it crumbles at its knees

The world cries out as everything is crime and higher fees

Captured in a global warming fever and shivering quakes

Everyone somehow stays asleep when its time to awake

They slumber deeply under the shadow of sin

To the lullaby of celebrities who are tools told to buy a fake grin

 The reality of our world’s leaders and nations

They are hooked on fast food feeders and reality TV stations

Reality that is faked and fakery

That is manufactured through jealousy and hate

To all this the only thing that my mind can fathom and equate

I’m telling you this day Jesus is coming at an exponential rate

 He came once and he said he will be back soon

My heart pounds with joy no need to pack he’s prepared a room

I can imagine the chariots racing through space coming for me

The angels in excitement a trip towards insignificant me

Maybe I am not insignificant for the kings blood did set me free

 I’m going to tell you something key don’t forget this now

I’m going to tell you a secret that will make the devil scowl

What I am about to say is ground breaking but concrete true

 We must wait with faithful vigilance like a watchful owl

Staying awake even when it seems like the darkest hour

Faith is the substance of things hoped for

Looking for the blessings to flow like a down pour

Faith allows me to see and be spiritually enlightened                      

Comforting those around me who are frightened 

because one unexpected day when freedom is tightened 

I will be taken like a grand audible and explosive bank heist

That is why I am called to be vigilant for Christ
