12. Do you believe rping a ship adds to character development?
@vigilihero || a meme from here || playing some catch up!
// actually? yes. in a ship with the right partner, you can discover things about your character that you didn’t think of before. how gentle they can actually be. how they might truly need someone more than they let themselves know. or how they see the world in general when they have someone beside them that supports them and is along for the ride of discovering this thing called life. a ship can add so many layers of emotional and mental progress to a character. even when things don’t work out, they learn more about themselves.
this stretches out to other ships, too. true friendship can expose you to so many new discoveries about yourself. family dynamics can test limits to love that you once thought were there but then figure out that there are people who can snap those limits and yet? you still love them. because they’re family and family tries to work through the shit together. because, in the end (regardless if they are blood or people you meet along the way), that’s all you’ve got.
so yes! ships of all sorts can show you so many things about your character. and finding the right partners is so essential to that. it’s why i’m so fortunate for this fandom, for the crossovers, for the oc’s here. it’s been a lovely experience doing exactly that with tony or bucky or whoever else i’m writing with them. give me all the ships of any brand pls!
