January 15, 2017 • today, my parents and i went to the St. Paul Vigil house to visit Sister Fe. We visit her atleast 3 times a year. Sister Fe is definitely one of a kind. She's 96 years old but she has a strong mind, heart and soul. She may be old but she's very young at heart. Each time we visit her, she never fails to make us all smile and laugh! She makes jokes, shares stories, and she inspires us. Its also such a wonderful feeling that even though we don't see her all the time and despite her old age, hearing and eyesight problems, she never forgets our names, and some basic things about us. Its such a nice feeling how she remembers me and how she remembers that i'll be taking up medicine. She's so pure, so genuine and real. We may not have spent time outside the vigil house together but she has a place in my heart. And i know i have a space in her pure heart as well. One of the sisters in the vigil house told us that Sister Fe is happy and will be happy because we visited her. And to me that is something to be very happy about. Knowing that you made someone happy is something to be happy about. I wish and pray for her health and happiness. I may not know so much about her, all i know is she's beautiful inside out, genuine and pure and i love her.
