She is quiet within her hangar this evening, the usual jitters absent from her great form. She is sulking, though the great beast would be loath to admit it. Everything has been so hectic, everything has changed and shifted so quickly that Red finds herself greatly uncertain with how things will play themselves out. Red is not used to abrupt and sudden change. While her pride mates have already made the adjustments, settling into their roles without so much of a whisper of complaint. Red feels a tinge of some unknown emotion, she wonders if it is wjat the paladins have often referred to as guilt . Red feels she should be better at changing than this. She is made of the same construct as the others, there is no excuse.
She can hear the echo of approaching footsteps long before the owner is anywhere near her hangar. The sound vibrates in the silent area of the ship. She brightens slightly, wondering if perhaps it is Keith coming to visit. She had hoped that Lance would have done things at least a little bit like Keith, but if he visited anyone to speak, it was Blue. They hadn’t grown that close yet, perhaps with time.
It is not Keith who enters her hangar, however. Instead, it is the former black Knight. His head is slightly tilted, eyes filled with some emotion Red is unfamiliar with. She ponders him for a moment, curious as to why it is her area of rest he’s chosen to visit. He seems in the same place as she, and Red decides that perhaps she’ll bless him with something more than just silence. Her gaze flickers on, glowing an eerie yellow as she greets him.
❛ You are a long way from the others, Paladin.❜
