Today is Viktor Road’s birthday.
Viktor belongs to cosmolord.
I’ve wanted to create the Selwyn-Holl family tree for several years, but I can’t spit out more than one drawing a month, so this idea has, to put it mildly, dragged on.
However, I’m basically a pro esports player in The Sims 4, and to me it’s just as much a creative tool for visualizing stories as drawing or staged HL screenshots.
So, khem...
Vergilius Selwyn and Heather Rowley are heirs to ancient pure-blood families and adhere strictly to their traditions. I believe there were Prewetts in Heather’s lineage before they were declared blood traitors.
Many Selwyns hold prestigious positions in the Ministry of Magic, and the family works hard to maintain an impeccable image in high society. However, behind the scenes, they control a share of the illegal market for selling and smuggling rare magical creatures out of Britain.
The eldest son is Silvanus Selwyn. I’m not sure how accurate his appearance in me version. I had to add him to the tree because I initially gave V some backstory drama involving the pure-blood family (not the most popular name from the Sacred Twenty-Eight!). And then I ran into her relative in the game and went, “WAIT! I made this family up, they weren’t supposed to be here!” So, well, after that instead of ignoring his existence, I decided that he really is V’s relative. Uncle, for example.
And when he fell under Rookwood’s influence and started openly causing trouble and tarnishing the proud Selwyn name, the family disowned him.
No one was exactly grieving over the fact that, in the game’s plot, Silvanus was killed.
Victoria is the older of the two twins and her father’s favored daughter. Now that his age and health are failing, she handles all the duties of the head of the family.
Immediately after graduating from school, she was married off to Percival Crouch — a wealthy but titleless pure-blood wizard. In the picture he looks exactly as he did when Victoria was 17. Fortunately for the Selwyns, after bringing a substantial fortune into the family, Percival died soon afterward under mysterious circumstances. Since the Selwyn family stood higher in the aristocratic hierarchy, Victoria refused to take his surname. But after his death, she wore mourning for many years and never took it off, so she wouldn’t have to remarry.
Aster is the younger of the two twins and essentially the black sheep (or white crow) of the family. After taking the blame for her sister’s misconduct, she was expelled from Hogwarts. Later, when she chose to live in the Muggle world and married a Muggle — Theodore Hall, she was declared a blood traitor and removed from the family.
Theodore holds the title of an English squire, but the family fortune had already been spent long before his time. All that remained was a small manor and a couple of servants. He is trying to build a successful political career, but, truthfully, he isn’t doing very well at it. What he is good at is being a good father and a loving husband.
Aster hid the fact that she was a witch from him her entire life, but when Violet’s magical abilities manifested and the truth came out, Theodore accepted it completely calmly.
Veil Selwyn is cosmolord’s character. He is the youngest of the four Selwyn children. Unlike the others, he was sorted into Gryffindor and, during his school years, he knocked his opponents’ teeth out with a Bludger. Being an adrenaline junkie, he now works at the Ministry as a curse-breaker and constantly puts his life at risk. But there’s no need to worry. Unlike Silvanus, Veil is still valuable to the family.
On Victoria’s orders, with a time-turner at the ready, Valentine is always prepared to back up his troublesome uncle.
Valentine and Violet are two sides of the same coin. While Victoria demanded absolute obedience to pure-blood family traditions from Valentine, Violet was pressured into living a quiet, ordinary Muggle life as a noble lady and future wife.
Valentine is ten years older than V, and they officially meet only in 1900 during her and Sebastian’s trial. Using his usual time-jumping tricks, he saves V from Azkaban and returns her to the Selwyn family under Victoria’s supervision.
In their story, I wanted to emphasize that Violet can never fully belong to either world. Since her first year in Slytherin, she wanted to be just as significant in the magical community as pure-blood wizards. She was angry at her mother for hiding her origins and denying her a childhood surrounded by magic. But once she falls under Victoria’s influence, she becomes equally disillusioned with the pure-blood side of her family.
Just like her mother Aster, Violet’s childhood wardrobe consisted mostly of white and cream tones. But the deeper she becomes involved in the magical world, the more black elements appear in her style, just like Victoria’s. Her wand is black and white, as are all of her current outfits.
I also had a headcanon that in the Selwyn manor, as true gloomy goths, Heather and later Victoria grew red roses in their garden. And when Aster began living with her husband, she couldn’t completely let go of those memories and started growing white roses. That’s why Valentine’s symbolic flower is the red rose, and V’s is the white one.
A rough depiction of the Hall manor is shown in the background of the family tree. And here’s the link to it, for a closer look.
For the atmosphere of the Selwyn estate, I put together a section on Valentine’s board.
And I’m also completely in love with Victoria, so she has a dedicated section as well.

#MCTOBER2025
Week №5; Part №1 — Alternative universe
Over the years, my friends and I have probably come up with an endless number of AUs. This week I’m planning to post many of them, but since it’s so close to Halloween, I want to share our absolute favorite one.
Supernatural AU
In a small gloomy town where the locals, for some reason, decided to cosplay the Middle Ages, an elite squad of monster hunters arrived. Priests and nuns packing not just wooden stakes tucked under their habits, but also a couple of shotguns for good measure. They’d broken away from the Church some time ago, but the whole “rituals and uniform” thing had, perhaps, stuck a little too hard.
Their real goal? Unclear.
The townsfolk complain about a creepy castle looming over the hill. Rumor has it, pale-faced aristocrats drag people there to drink their blood or turn them into their own kind. And if that’s not enough, there are howls echoing from the depths of the nearby forest. And a “School for Noble Young Ladies” that decided a dark, half-collapsing mansion was just the vibe.
Wait… But what’s wrong with an ordinary school? Even with the charmingly ominous mansion.
Well, maybe the fact that its students for some reason prefer to wear only pointed hats. That milk curdles suspiciously often around them. And that the women temporarily acting as the headmistress walks a little black goat on a leash.
People are convinced it’s a real coven preparing to choose their new Supreme Witch. But the priest, however, has no idea where such silly superstitions come from. Clearly, those ladies just have impeccable fashion taste and a goat.
So why would the priest turn a blind eye to the unholy beings right under his nose? Can he truly be that oblivious?
Maybe it’s all because the witch clouded his mind with a love potion disguised as sleeping tea? Or maybe it’s just that her braids, swaying as she walks, have some sort of oddly hypnotic effect? Or perhaps the real issue lies in the utter incompetence of the so-called elite squad.
For example, Viktor the nun notices that the priest starts feeling suspiciously terrible once a month, yet somehow his train of thought never quite makes him to the fact that the priest was bitten by a werewolf some time ago.
As for Viktor himself, he’s been bitten by vampire, too. But no one seems particularly concerned about that. What really confuses people is why he considers himself a nun and refuses to wear trouser.
All in all, it is a perfectly peaceful little town. Except that every Sunday someone gets burned at the stake 🔥🥴🤙
