omfg i'm so conflicted because i was going through you're art and i went, "wow she likes sherlock im so proud" and then i find out you like homestuck and fucking that shit's fucking weird

I am a Homestuck, I know it’s hard and I’m sorry you had to find out this way, but it’s the truth.

Homestuck has been a love of mine since I was like, 14.

(It’s “Maddy chatters and rambles about stupid shit” time so theres a tl;dr at the bottom derp a derp)

Homestuck’s about as messed up as it gets, but honestly?? That’s one of the reasons why I love it! It doesn’t indulge in clichés much and has the most interesting and realistic character growth in any show, book, anime, or whatever the fuck else I’ve ever seen. These kids who come from such wild and different backgrounds are just struggling to be kids, and they all kind of give off this vibe of not quite fitting in to the normal social standard. They really are some of the most realistic and relatable characters I’ve ever encountered.

And then of course they go on this wild adventure and meet internet trolls who are actually an alien race who are literally trolls with grey skin and horns and all this crazy shit happens then everyone’s double-dying and coming back to life and getting drunk and going trickster and there are just so many inside jokes it’s overwhelming. (I just said like idk 5 of them??) Then there’s all these little details and hints and suggestions and small things and actions that the characters do and then you think, “Wow, this shit is actually really deep????”

Honestly the interactions between the characters reminds me a lot of Sherlock and John and the way they interact with each other. Plus all the foreshadowing and clues and references and how everything is somehow related to everything else makes it into this huge puzzle that needs solving!

I’m not going to go into the other reasons why I love HS; the character development and the little details where just the first thing that came to mind that really stood out to me lol

SO, TL;DR

Homestuck is my fave I love it so much everyone is precious and perfect and it makes me cRY A LOT.

What kind of tablet do you have? Because I've been looking at some, and I've never bought one before. And I'm kind of stupid when it comes to this.

Lolz I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun. They come with touch and stylus applications and only cost around $200 at Best Buy. I’ve had mine for around 4 years, and it’s held up pretty good, despite my abusiveness.  It’s really basic, but you can hot-key with it as well as turn on and off the touch application. If you want something more fancy (aka, more expensive), maybe get something from the Wacom Intuos line. That’s what I’m gonna shoot for once my Bamboo dies.

And for the record, it’s a good idea to ask other artists about their tools of the trade so you can get a good idea of what you’re looking for; helps you to narrow down your search. I asked a Deviant I look up to about tablets and this was more or less what she suggested to me. <3 So not stupid, silly. Smart. :)
