A Not-So-Graceful Romance ;; Villaindad x M!Reader
You'd recently been working as a helper at Mona's school alongside Hisashi and the other caretakers. The small girl seemed to like you. She was intriguing. The little details such as the overlord complex, and her abnormally large ears. You wonder sometimes who she came from...
Well, you did.
Until you were forced to watch a conference between Hisashi and Mona's father, while you played with the little girl.
And the moment he walked in, you realised...
Oh no.
He's hot.
You had expected the father of such an adorable little toddler to be small, wrinkly and a soft old man.
But oh boy, he was not a soft old man...
"And this one is Fereldan!" Mona exclaimed, showing you her large toy dinosaur. You nodded at her to show you were listening, even if a certain overlord had your attention captured and caged tightly.
The small girl looked up at you with an eccentric face of confusion before you spoke up, clearly distracted.
"Mona... What's your dad's name?"
Mona, being the mischievous little toddler she was, caught on almost immediately upon noticing your blushing face and lost eyes, which pointed directly at her father.
She giggled to herself and tapped her fingers together. "My daddy's name is Nathan! The overword of this path-patetic planet!"
You giggle at Mona's mispronunciation and correct her, before turning back to the direction of the emo man, sitting in a chair on a desk.
His fashion sense intrigued you. It made your face feel warm, and before you knew it, you'd been staring.
Fortunatelyโor unfortunately, depending on how you view itโ for you, Mona is the only person who noticed.
"Oh my goodness. You like my daddy!"
Your face flushes and you shush the girl, whispering closely to her. "Don't say that out loud, Mona, please. I-..."
You sigh and give her a comical look of defeat. "Fine, maybe I do."
That day, you'd confessed to the little overlord your biggest secret.
You had the fattest crush on Desdemona's father.
Oh, that girl knew what she was doing too. Because a few weeks later, she started asking you to walk with her outside to take her to her dad. She also got in trouble on purpose so he would get called in.
But one thing that made her upset about these plans?
He never even noticed you.
Or, at least. That's what you thought.
Until, of course, during one specific day in the fall. You'd been walking out of the building with Mona while she expressed her feelings about that particular day. In doing so, you stumbled upon her father. Again.
You were just about ready to smile, wave, and turn around like always. But the last thing you would've expected to happen was for Nathan to call your name.
"Greetings, um..." The man looked down at his daughter, and she mouthed something to him. He looked back up and continued. Wait... is that blush on his face?
"Y/N. Desdemona has recently informed me of your behaviours toward her. She has spoken highly of you, and I find that commendable. Would you care to join me for a uh-"
The overlord looked to Mona again, and then back up. "A, um... date? This afternoon."
Your eyes widen, and the flesh in your cheeks suddenly feels undescribably hot. You look to Mona.
She cracked under your gaze and hugged Nathan's leg as she spoke, looking up at her father. "Daddy, I want Y/N to be your overlord boyfriend! He's super duper nice, too!" As she speaks, you feel even more embarrassed, covering your face with your hands.
Nathan's face had a light pink dusted over his features as well, as he looked up at you. "I see. So that is why you asked of me to 'take him out on a date,' yes Mona?"
She nods as he brings his hands up to put air quotes around her statement. The shorter(or taller?) man sighs, and you swear you can see a faint smile cover his features.
"I um.. I'd love to... go on a date with you." You smile at Nathan with your blushing face, accepting his previous offer.
"Excellent. Meet me at the pathetic coffee restaurant on the corner. You will be there."
You rub the back of your neck as he speaks, and nod. The emo overlord turns and walks off with his daughterโ who is cheering and waving at youโ in tow.
