Well I mean, I am hoping to make some money out of it too! As well as no longer needing to go and buy emergency plants when our caterpillars inevitably strip their plants. But at the height of the season the shops are selling these miserable, aphid-covered sticks for $6-$8. At the moment I’ve got like 40 seedlings and probably 200+ seeds, and it’s not like containers and dirt are especially hard to come by. So I’m being a ruthless capitalist entrepraneur! 

But I’d like to get a decent bank of big plants in our garden (at the moment we have one established plant). Ideally I’d also have a smaller ‘reserve’ of swan plants kept behind some kind of barrier to transfer the largest caterpillars on when they’re ready to pupate, so I wouldn’t have to worry about the chrysalises being damaged by other caterpillars or predators. Something ate at least 2 of our chrysalises this year, and that simply isn’t fair >:(

It was so funny I woke myself up laughing and I honestly kind of want to get it for real. The only thing stopping me is that my tattoos so far are in honour of dead pets, so an admittedly hilarious joke might detract from the whole thing I’ve got going there.
