William has called Vincent, telling him that he will explain everything when he returns from his trip. Sam asks how long it will take, and the answer is a few days. Sam is very obviously angry with William, regarding everything that happened at the summit, Vincent sounds tired and timid by the situation.
Sam and Vincent discuss further that Porter was telling the truth regarding House Bennet, Close Knit, and The Inversion. They talk through all the information the audience already knows, seemingly just confirming it for themselves.
Sam asks Vincent if he is okay with them getting their hands dirtier, and Vincent doesn't say no. Vincent asks Sam the same, and Sam also doesn't say yes. At least, that's as good of a summary as I'm going to get out of them. Sam has a lot to say on the situation.
They decide they just need to talk to Porter, and William. They decide they are owed an explanation.
Vincent returns home after meeting with William. Listener can tell that something is up/he is upset. Vincent says nothing is particularly wrong, and he explains what happened.
Beginning with the fact that Alexis was there, which isn't the usual. Because William usually doesn't talk to both of them at the same time. William tells Vincent and Alexis once Vincent is sat down that he (William) is not attending the Summit...the same summit he requested to host this specific year as well. His reasoning is work. Which sounds like bullshit, to everyone. Because William "doesn't make mistakes."
William claims that House Solaire is still hosting the summit, i.e. it's Alexis and Vincent's responsibility to host. Alexis is like "fuck that" which ultimately makes it Vincent's sole responsibility (because for reasons Vincent doesn't know, William won't force Alexis, when according to Vincent, he would normally).
While Vincent is questioning this, William also drops that the Shaw Pack has been officially invited to the summit this year. Which will cause it's own problems.
Vincent acknowledges that this feels like a test, that it is a test. But he doesn't understand why William is testing him. William says, "I need you to do this for me, Vincent." Which is as close as Vincent is going to get for an answer. Vincent is left just as, if not more confused.
Vincent confides in Listener. They comfort and console him.
And then Sam calls. Sam informs Vincent that Porter is coming back to town, or is maybe even "in town" already.
