We’re excited to be looking into this antique circular sock machine. It currently features a 56 and 72 needle slot cylinder and works by rotating the cylinder (not the cam shell on the outside). Pete Oswald confirmed that the cylinders themselves were usually made from lead. This machine (for when it was made) did not have a ribber, it featured a short stem weight with an extra weight puck, a V hook to work heels and toes and a special very early days Heel hold down tool. See a quick video online of what this machine looks like https://youtube.com/shorts/IV0R-8CcLu8?feature=share More info to come when more is available.
