Arianne Martell is included in the show. Her story with Myrcella was awesome but in the show, Arianne isn’t there and Myrcella is just obsessed with her marriage? It was all...meh
That being said, Jaime doesn’t go to Dorne. That storyline was useless, and he has a much better arc in the books
I’d honestly probably give an entire episode of a flashback of Rhaegar/Elia/Lyanna. I know some fans like it being vague so they can decide for themselves if Rhaegar was good or not, but I think it would have given more to the story. We would have finally seen these three through an objective lens, without anyone’s biases, and we could see how this whole situation ever started. Bran could be the one doing the episode since he can see the entire past, and they could flash through multiple moments in time with their story - Rhaegar & Elia meeting, then him placing the flower in Lyanna’s hands, etc. We’d also get the opportunity to see characters like Robert, Ned, and Oberyn again (albeit younger) and it probably would have felt like a fresh episode and maybe even lay the groundwork for fans wanting to see prequels that HBO want to do
God everything with the Night King. I honestly always thought the Night King was the big bad that they had to fight after everyone fought for the throne. While I never pegged Dany to be the one on the throne in the finale end game, I did figure that Dany would get the throne (or be about to get it), then the wights all attack, and everyone has to team up against them and there’s the inherent understanding that all their fighting means nothing if, well, they’re all dead.
I would have killed Cersei season 7. I love to hate her, but she had absolutely no purpose in season 8. She literally did nothing but look out a window and drink and like...what was the point? They wasted Lena’s talents on that season and it would have been much better imo if they had gotten Dany on the throne by the end of season 7, Jaime had killed Cersei, Dany had taken the throne, and then season 8 we see Dany’s rule being less-than-great and the white walkers attacking, and then them dealing with that fallout closer to the end of season 8
