Vintage Style Tutorial: Finding Your Vintage Flare..
Quick vintage style tutorial: So I get a lot of questions about how to wear a vintage piece. Some people really love vintage but have trouble styling it & knowing how to incorporate it in there regular everyday modern wear & trendy pieces or what have you. It's important as a fashion lover to know that most current trends & styles are vintage inspired. So if your label/trend obsessed don't be afraid to step outside the box by being UNIQUE & giving vintage and thrifted pieces a try. You might be surprised at how vintage or thrifted find can give life to your ensemble and have everyone asking where you got it from! Step 1-Visualize! When shopping for these classic looks think about how you can pair it with with current styles in your wardrobe. Open your mind! Fashion has no limitations. You don't have to conform to any rule! It's your style! In other words do you!
Step 2: look for bold statement pieces. Pieces that shout out to you! Your looking for bright colorful or multi color shirts/ blouses. They can be a solid color or a cool print. These items you can pair with your favorite jeans and heels to dress it up or with your favorite sneaker or flats to dress it down. Don't be afraid to mix up prints! Prints on prints are in and are super dope. No matter the era pick a piece that stands out, a piece that speaks to you.
Step 3: Don't be afraid of the gaudy stuff. You ever see dressy 80s/90s tops with cool buttons and embellishments like sequins or embroidery! You can find similar designs in all the popular high end couture lines such as Gucci, Prada, balcienga etc. Tops & Blazers like these are popular and can be worn in many diff ways. And if you find them at a local vintage & thrift shop You will spend a lot less and look just as amazing if not more amazing and you didn't spend $900 for the one with high end name. Not knocking the expensive stuff because I love it too but let's be real, we all cant afford that so we must improvise & glow up without having to go broke.
Step 4- Accessorize! Jewelry can make a huge difference & give you that chic fashion forward look that your trying to achieve. Long pearls, chunky chains and bracelets, bold earrings etc. layer necklaces up or where one nice piece if you want to keep it simple. Depends on the look your going for. Complete these steps and your vintage look is complete!. It takes time to achieve your personal style goal but the good thing is experimenting with fashion is FUN. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
