‘Vinyl’ Actors React as HBO Scraps Its Second Season
HBO has confirmed that the second season of the series Vinyl is not going to happen anymore as its previous season’s ratings flopped – even if Olivia Wilde had filmed a nude scene. Fans are not the only ones who are disappointed after hearing the news, but the actors as well.
Although the series had been in progress, HBO dismisses the possibilities for Vinyl’s sophomore season. The show’s pilot season was allotted with $100 million and the network and is now facing a challenge because it has not had any breakout drama hit eve since Game of Thrones was launched. Plus, there have been several troubled shows like West world which was stopped in December with only a few episodes filmed but needed additional work.
The Vinyl star, Bobby Cannavale feels down about the cancellation of the program, as reported by Page Six. His co-star, Bo Dietl, also said that he is opposed to the replacement of Terence Winter, the writer and producer of the show.
Dietl said that they could have let Winter made small adjustments rather than replacing him with Scott Z. Burns. Dietl played the role of Joe Corso but he was already killed off so he is not that affected by the show’s cancellation.
Furthermore, it is not only Cannavale and Dietl who feel sad about the said television series’ cancellation but also Ray Romano who played as Zak Yankovish, who is a record executive. Romano said that he was very happy to play a part in the show, News.com.au reported. However, he is still looking on the brighter side of the situation and hopes that the series would hopefully be picked up by another network.
Vinyl is a television drama created by Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese, Rich Cohen and Terrence Winter. It was set in the 70’s era and shows the world of rock and roll music industry.
