It had been years. Not as long as the last time she had dropped off of the earth, but still long enough to be cause for concern. Her kids knew she was alive, but most others didn’t. 

So she stood at his door, hesitating for longer than she was proud to admit before knocking and waiting for the door to open, a smile spreading across her lips.

There weren’t a lot of people that Viola could think of that would be good to call in a situation like this, but Ash was, at the very least, someone she trusted. So she had text, trying to play it off as two old friends getting together for coffee. Vi was careful to choose a place that he would know that Azazel might not. After all, she didn’t really like talking about her pre-hell life and he didn’t really seem to mind. 

“Ya can say no if ya wanna, I won’t hold it against ya, but I think I need some help.”

“Dyin’ really wasn’t thing that coulda happened to me. I mean, hell is...well, hell, but I got some freedom, ya know?” She just wasn’t really allowed to do certain things, see certain people. Thankfully, they weren’t on that list.

He froze for a moment, far more surprised than he should be by this turn of events, before he was leaning into the kiss. "...was that a hello kiss or a goodbye one?"

“Realistically? Both,” she murmured, hating that she dragged him into any of this and wishing like hell that things had worked out differently, that she crossed paths with him again earlier.
