It had been long, oh so long since the goddess’ last visit to the mortal realm, and even so, as feet placed themselves down on rich soil she could tell something was wrong. Perhaps, wrong was not quite the word to use; odd would be more suitable. As far as the eye could see, lands were vast, decorated graciously with flowers and flora of all sorts, making the scene all the more homely for her, and yet, it caught her attention that these flowers.. Were not anything she had ever once encountered before. Strange that. One would assume she, goddess of flowers, would have not a single species escape her knowledge. Of course, that wasn’t the only oddity the goddess would find; but the world was thick with strange kinds of magics. Magic’s she had never felt, never experienced. Making it apparent to the goddess, that this, was in fact, not Earth.
And if this place was not Earth, where, pray tell, was she?
It was certainly a strange feeling for the goddess, to be at a loss of where she was. Usually knowledge flowed through her entire fibre. She could tell you what the weather would be, lest a god not decide to throw a tantrum – Zeus; Tell you how long these flowers were in bloom, where she was, and well, anything that could be asked, with few, few exceptions, and yet, here she stood, completely lost and at a loss.
“My, isn’t this rather curious?” A melodic laughter followed her words, not aimed at anyone aside from herself, and the goddess hummed. This certainly was interesting. Interesting enough that maybe just maybe she should be worried. But alas, she felt nothing but intrigue and a vast amount of curiosity. It was a welcome treat to have a place where she knew of not a thing, she could learn, she could act as though she were a regular mortal. That was, if this world had mortal humans. She was ever wondering just why they lived their lives as they did. It seemed pointless, how much a change could a simple human make in such a short time? Though she had seen many try, however it all ended the same.
A simple shrug was given and the thought was dismissed, soon enough she began her journey, only to come across what seemed to be a small camp hours later. Had it not been for the fire, the goddess surely would have missed it. It was concealed rather well, and despite the signs clearly showing whoever owned this place wanted not to be found, she made herself cozy by the fire. Whoever it was seemed to be on a hunt for supplies, and it would be most troublesome if the fire got out of hand and destroyed the flora. Even if they weren’t known to her, she wouldn’t forgive someone to destroy such beauty, accident or not.
Eyes continued to wander around the small camp, eyes falling upon two small packs. Well, that would settle it – there were mortals on this plane. Ogres, were much too stupid to fathom such intricacies, and bags were much too small as was the fire. The only viable situation would be mortals, and so, she would wait to meet these two, and hopefully have her questions answered. And, if they were ruffians and thugs who sought to harm her? The forest could use some pansies, or perhaps some daffodils?
Pondering the fate of the individuals should they cross her, head tilted as she heard the sound of footsteps approaching.
“Well, hello. I hope you don’t mind me borrowing your fire. It is rather chilly, I’m afraid.”
