Nico woke with a start, a voice pulling him from sleep and a shadowy figure standing above him. His body didn’t give time for his mind to figure out who it was and he scrambled away from the figure, survival instincts kicking in before he had time to think. Head cracking against the headboard, Nico came to an abrupt stop, which allowed his mind enough time to actually work through what was happening.
He was in the Underworld. In his room. The figure standing over his bed was his father, Hades. He wasn’t in the dream, he wasn’t in Tartarus.
“Oh, sorry, was I yelling again?” More nightmares. “Sorry,” he repeated, hair slicked with sweat. Maybe he really should talk to Hypnos again about a dreamless sleep.
