I’m keeping busy and doing all the things that I do but mood is ups and downs. My dad is still very unwell and getting treatment. Work has had its stress points as well. However I’m really trying to be positive and take control of what I can, but it is hard and my concentration isn’t great.
Other things: Over the bank holiday few weeks ago I did a fun “yogance” workshop with my friend Ima, which was awesome. Look up Tamara and the yogance website if you are interested in yoga blended with dance! I’m the the end, far right of the photo :)
Then I did the intensive fusion belly dance workshop “Deviation” with Violet Scrap and Hilde Cannoodt :D 10 hours over 2 days. It was really inspiring and interesting. It definitely showed me the value of studying more dance theory and in particular Laban’s work. It was what I needed to freshen up my ideas and vocabulary. So I’m looking forward to playing with the ideas and concepts in time. Violet is really lovely as well, and humble. If there’s one dancer right now who inspires me to grow and be myself through dance its her <3
I’ve been making more effort to eat a balanced diet and not restrict. In particular upping my protein. I’m sure I’ve put on muscle, my legs are the strongest they’ve ever been and looked for sure!
Honestly I am just trying to keep positive and relaxed. It doesn’t always work. I feel best when I am dancing, working out, moving and sweating.
