Incredibles 2, and Beyond?
Hi Chaps
I have to say, watching the sequel to The Incredibles was just as amazing as I thought it would be. Action was great, characters were great, and the animation was top notch. I also like the character upgrades, like Tony's.
At the time of writing this post, as far as I'm aware, there is hope for an Incredibles 3, but please don't take this as concrete evidence. Some of the voice actors are interested in reprising their roles, and the producer John Walker isn't ruling a third film out either. However this doesn't mean that a 3rd film is defiantly going to happen.
I'm probably going to very unpopular for saying this, but, I don't think a third film is needed right now. Don’t get me wrong I would like there to be a third film as much as the next person, as there are still some unanswered questions from the sequel, like what happened to the Underminer for example.
Although is it needed in a third instalment?
Why not just have a few shorts come out every couple of months like the Toy Story franchise did? There have been some adverts for the Incredibles that could very easily be used for shorts. There’s one where Helen and Violet are driving the new Incredibles Car and they stop a group of bank robbers, both of them are using their powers to stop them and protect innocent bystanders. I won’t mention what they were advertising, but I can see this working as maybe a 10-15 minute short for the Disney Channel or Disney XD. Maybe the two of them are having a mother daughter day out shopping, and then, let’s say, a group of dangerous shoplifters are holding people hostage in an expensive jewellery shop? What could Helen and Violet do to stop them, without Bob, Dash and Jack-Jack there to help them? (By the way a mother daughter superhero team just sounds awesome in my honest opinion).
Just a few shorts every couple of months sounds fine to me, as this will allow the writers and animators to finish the stories, and plot points that they never had the chance to finish. Don’t forget this was pushed forward to 2018 so that Toy Story 4 could be released in 2019, (looking forward to that too) and due to this Brad Bird said they had lost a year’s worth of production on Incredibles 2.
I do have other questions about the Incredibles universe in general, but I will leave those for another day as some follow-up questions.
For now I can defiantly say I loved watching in on the big screen and I will be looking forward to seeing what they come up with next. I have heard that there are some new comics set after the events of the second film, so who knows what they might be coming up with next?
So until next time, Stay Super.
