Author's note: Unbeta'd , au: A world where there is no such thing as morning breath. Xmen Nightcrawler Kurt Sfvardos X Doctor Strange X Black female reader
That night as they to lay sleeping, the cool bedroom air began to sizzle, and a circular portal appeared in the air. It was Doctor Strange again. Kurt’s mutation meant he was covered with had spider-like hairs all over his body, that sensed shifts in time and space. He was grateful for those senses now. “I know you're awake, Kurt Szardos!”, Steven hissed. “And you need to leave.” The Eye of Agamotto began to radiate a dim light, no brighter than a cell phone on its dimmest setting. Strange gazed between Kurt face and that of the sleeping woman. “Of course, this can’t be a simple memory wipe.”, Stephen muttered half to himself.
"Kurt, she doesn't belong to you. To the crazy dangerous world we live in. If you really love her but let her go, and leave before she wakes up." But Kurt did not budge, he just gazed adoringly over the profile of Y/N's face. " The spell is already cast! We erased the memories of everybody was at the Garden Party so that no one would remember seeing the demon Arkaith. Memory spells aren’t my favorite but you got to do what you got to do.”
“How did you do it?” Kurt asked, “I put a filter on her memories, so that it's like you and the rest of us weren't there. She saw nothing, she'll remember nothing special or with detail. Noone will”.
“And why must the public be in the dark? So much secrecy? It makes me wonder what you have to hide?”, Kurt asked accusingly.
“And here I was ,thinking you’d be a reasonable man about it. I’d heard such great things about you, I was going to track you down and ask you to join up with me.” , Stephen replied tartly.
Kurt was strangely silent, but defiance twinkled in his eyes.
He folded his arms across his chest. Kurt uncrossed his arms and pointed to the Eye of Agamotto.
"What is that thing that sits right above your heart?".
"You say its name with reverence, like there's something sacred and powerful to be cherished.", Kurt said.
" And it's sits right above your heart.", Kurt emphasized, tapping his own. “Protected and close to your heart. Like I can protect her!”.
"The last time I tried to make exceptions for one person, the whole universe just kind of….broke.”, Stephen said defeatedly. “No exceptions! Just…have a heart, Stephen!”, Kurt pleaded. “So I can say a proper goodbye.
"Even if it works out, still doesn't mean you can be together! Humans normally aren't that crazy about mutant kind aren't they. Save yourself the heartache!", Stephen said finally.
It was at this point that the conversation or rather the argument between Kurt and dr. strange had hit its crescendo. spoke a little too loudly.
Just then, in her sleep, YN muttered.
Kurt blushed and smiled and wondered to himself, if she was really dreaming about him.
Stephen stepped through the portal before warning, “Remember I tried to warn you!”
Kurt smiled again, and laid back down on the bed, but his movements woke her up.
She sat up, all sleepy eyed, and with a raspy whisper she smiled awkwardly.
“So… I guess you’re from the Halloween party”, She asked. “Yes,” he said. “ I had a really good time last night, Schazi.”
She smiled and laid her head back down on the pillow, and yawned again.
“So you were the one telling me about a law class on mutant laws and court cases right?”.
Kurt nodded again. “And we danced and talked for a while, right?”
She nodded and smiled while rubbing her eyes delicately. “I'm sorry I'm blanking on your name.” Kurt smiled. “ Kurt”, he added. She smiled again. “Were you just about to head out?”, she asked sleepily. Kurt nodded again., “ But not without telling you but I'd love to see you again. I so enjoyed our conversation, but I'm guessing you don't remember much.” She lay there considering and then she asked him, “ What was your favorite part of last night?”. He smiled and said, “ You're going to think I'm being corny but… it was meeting you and talking To you.” After a beat, he returned the question to her. Quote what was your favorite part of last night?”.
" at this moment I don't remember so well.", She said apologetically. Kurt looked down at his feet. It would have been less painful to just get up and leave this morning.
" I'm... Sorry to wake you. I need to get going", Kurt replied apologetically.
They both fell into an awkward silence, until Kurt asked a question.
" Do you feel like you had a good time last night?". YN though for a minute, before replying. " Yes, I had a great time".
" Then that's all that matters", Kurt said with the sad finality.
"One more thing a question for you. Isn't it hot in your costume?"
Kurt smiled and reached out for her left hand and gave it a kiss.
"I'm a mutant liebling, this is how I look all the time".
He stood up from the bed and backed away so she could get the full view of his body. She drank in his blue skin, the size of his shoulders, as eh stood there feeling more vulnerable and naked than he had ever felt before. YN felt a rush of heat at her core. He was different and yet beautifully made. She noticed his blue black skin carved with sigils of some unknown kind. His tail moving dejectedly behind him. YN surprised Kurt with her answer. She looked searchingly into his eyes. Kurt looked at her expectantly. " I know I look a little different than most guys you may have been with."
She noticed his blue black skin carved with sigils or symbols of something. His tail moving dejectedly behind him. YN surprised Kurt with her answer. She looked searchingly at his eyes, and then declared. “ You’re beautifully made, handsome.”
It was at this point that she reached out to him with her left hand. She stepped forward into his space, chest to chest and face to face. She placed an arm around his shoulders and pulled him in closer.
" I never said your appearance was a problem. I asked if you were hot and wanted to take it off... For me to see you clearly, in the light of day."
Kurt stood there stunned. Without any fancy, grand gesture had he managed to land his desire.
She slowly closed the distance between them, leaning in and pulling him by his chin for a slow burning kiss. “May I ?”, she asked and Kurt nodded desperately. And she kissed him again and again, before pulling back.
" How are you not afraid?", He asked with incredulity.
She shrugged and said. " I remember the way I felt last night. l remember it was with someone vwearing blue. I just needed a taste to make sure it really was you."
At her last words they came together again, this time much more tenderly and slowly, his tail carefully curling around her waist and drawing her in closer. She slowly closed the distance between them, leaning in and pulling him by his chin for a slow burning, deep kiss. And she kissed him again and again, before pulling back.
He groaned with appreciation with each kiss thereafter, his sighs and calls of “Schatzi”, meine perle, between each labored breath. They both laughed with relief and stood there embracing each other and taking in the miracle of nearly missing the chance of finding and keeping each other.
Reader, they did not go out that day! They had too much too do, and discover about each other to do anything else but give in to longing, loving, and holding on to each other.
