I know violins weren’t around at that time, but I was thinking about Isekai’d to the West by @skittlescripts (currently on hiatus) after my violin lesson.

My reader (if she somehow got her hands on her violin again) would absolutely be extra enough that when Bajie/Wuneng started to whine and complain, would pull out her violin with an exaggerated sigh and just start playing “Woe Is Me!” From SpongeBob.

The first time, they’re confused, but after she’s explained the joke, at least Wukong finds it funny. Bajie finds it annoying and eventually learns to shut up.

I feel like I can't be the only violinist who will be ready to play while learning a piece and ready to just play my best as loud as possible and suddenly becoming absolutely silent as literally everyone else in your section sits in silence.
