Quick explanation: this is the first half of a short comic set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe that shows the circumstances of my OC Pepper's embrace, and also serves as an introduction to her and Vincent. It functions like a prelude to (her version of) VTMB, but no prior knowledge of the setting is needed to understand the story. Pepper doesn't know anything about VTM either at this point and has no idea vampires are real, so if you're going in blind, you and her are on the same boat. If you have played VTMB, though, you might recognize some of the locations & a few things referenced in there. :]

We're SO back

#I wish I had more non-spoilery progress snippets to show off rn but alas #due to Circumstances I've only got a few pages fully done by now #things have unforch not gone according to plan so far 😔 I've kind of been a mess since the beginning of this year #bc like Not Only was I going through financial struggles(my own fault tbh I mismanaged my money & spent way too much impulsively)#but I've also been like. distancing myself from some ppl. some friendships that just haven't been working out for a while now #and one of those friends is someone I've known for roughly 10 years. so. it's been uh. yeah 🫠 it's been a weird time #BUT!! I've set a lot of things straight now. money is good. I payed everything I owed. my credit card is cleared. and mentally-#- I'm at peace w my decisions #so I'm very excited to get back into this project & give it more of my attention again 🥲 I wanna make progress SO bad #I've got only 8 pages done so far bc at a certain point I scrapped many panels & redid them jejdkckkc BUT I'm happy w the way-#everything is looking now. and I'm determined to get to page 15 by the end of this week ☝🏻 which I KNOW is doable #especially now that this is getting my undivided attention again 😌 this week especially I'll dedicate a lot of time to it #I can do thisssss I can do it 💪🏻😤#sleep.txt #viper comic #comic progress

#I mean. ok. it probably looks like the same style to anyone but me fnfjjcnf BUT I can feel the difference #I'm going a little harder on the lighting this time around #for part 1 I needed to simplify it bc otherwise I'd never finish it. bc it'd take longer yk #and it was my first time doing a comic so I NEEDED to finish it. that was like. top priority ekkfkfkck #so simplifying things wherever I could(while still liking the result yk) rlly helped me #but now that I feel more confident in my ability to actually go through with it and finish all the pages #I can get a little fancier with it :] at least I feel like it's safe to do so now #I'm really enjoying that so far tho bc even tho it takes longer. I do like the way things look w complex lighting a lot better #I'm also trying to improve on my page layouts. I think I can make their compositions look better #I love pt 1 but there's a lot of things I look back on now and think 'oh I could've done this or that a little better'#so yk. we're on that journey now #ALSO GOD I haven't posted any updates in months but if you were wondering if pt 2 is still on the table it absolutely is fnvjkc #I've been working on it since january #just been trying a new method where I try to get most of the pages storyboarded & sketched out before even touching the lineart brush #at LEAST most of them yk #so that means it takes longer until I actually have something 'finished' to show fjfkkbd but I have a lot of sketches so far ☝🏻#just nothing I'm particularly like 'yeah this is at the stage where I wanna show it to ppl'#like. it all needs more time to cook. but progress is being made ☝🏻😤#sleep.txt #viper comic #sketch tag #comic process

I've finished it.

#MY VINCENTPEPPER COMIC. MY FIRST COMIC BABYS VERY FIRST COMIC. IT IS DONE.#finished and sent it to a friend yesterday but there were STILL some parts bothering me #so I had to tweak them today. my brain is my enemy #BUT NOW I'M FINISHED. LEAVING IT ALONE PUTTING IT ON THE SHELF NOT POKING AT IT ANYMORE #I'm gonna make that little cover I wanted to make and post it either this weekend or next week #& finish my last commission from last month. then start working on the next ones #just gonna get my head down get all work done then REST and end the year. I've earned it I feel like. patting myself on the back #I have honestly challenged myself more than ever with this project #and I'm SO proud of myself for finishing it. like legit this is a feat for me #I've been fighting my adhd for so long when it comes to my art and this year I really set out to improve on my drawimg habits #and manage to go through with more projects and finish things that I started #and to be able to finish THIS. which is nearly 60 pages long and took me several months. is HUGE for me #I've learned a lot through the process and can definitely see places where I could improve now going forward #but for now. She is my silly bean. The woman of the hour. My poor little meow meow. The most beautiful and interesting girl in the planet. Every single one of her crimes should be forgiven on the basis that your honor she's having a rough couple of weeks and she's being so brave about it. Also just look at her. Case closed

#WAUGH this scene turned out so good..........#I've been drawing the comic on a scene by scene basis #and giving myself deadlines(2 weeks per scene) so I don't get stuck on the details #this is scene 3 so far. the previous ones I rlly struggled with #while trying to find my footing with the process yk #I've been experimenting a lot while trying to find a balance between something that looks polished AND doesn't take too long to finish #which. has been. A Struggle 🫠 BUT #I feel like I really got somewhere with this latest one #it was the fastest And most stylistically consistent I managed to do so far AND I love how it ended up looking ahhhhh #I'm so happy I'm so excited <3 finishing this one rlly motivated me & now I can't wait to start the next one #hehehehe I'm so HAPPY clapping my hands clapping my hands #sleep.txt #sketch tag #viper comic #oc.pepper
