'Draw four ships' requests from twitter
I read the fic where Tohya and Black Battler were in a system, which made me curious on two accounts.
1. Would Battler himself also become part of the system? As Tohya views himself separate from his past self, and Black Battler is a sort of amalgamation (?) of the fear of being the culprit, there would be a Battler who wasn’t the culprit, too? Or does Black Battler take that role entirely?
2. How would Virgilius react to Tohya’s system, in a world where they are together and he has developed one? Would it be similar to the Black Battler and Ikuko dynamic you mentioned in another post, where she provides an anchor for Tohya? Or would the different parts of the system interact with him?
I have several Tohya system fics, ahaha. Kind of speaks to how much fun I have with the idea...
I've considered both the idea of Battler being a separate alter within Tohya's system, as well as the idea of Black Battler being the only Battler to exist there. I feel like I prefer the idea of Black Battler representing Battler (in particular, the culprit Battler, and other negative ideas Tohya has regarding Battler). If there was a separate, non-culprit Battler, he would probably have more of the positive aspects of Battler - but I feel as though Tohya has more negative than positive feelings with Battler that he's grappling with. He's tormented more by the idea of a culprit Battler, or at least a culpable in the massacre though his actions towards Sayo Battler, than he is by the idea that Battler is a kind young man who made some mistakes. At least in my personal interpretation of Tohya.
2. Virgilius is an old friend of Battler's, so he wouldn't serve the same 'anchor' purpose that Ikuko does, where Ikuko is solely connected to Tohya. In a magic context, Virgilius is sort of the natural 'enemy' of Black Battler, in that Virgilius knew Battler pre-Rokkenjima and would be equipped to deny Black Battler's version of him as a murderous/violent culprit.
I think Black Battler wouldn't interact with Virgilius at first, but as Tohya stabilizes more away from Ikuko he also has to confront Black Battler more (I can imagine he also fronts more). Eventually it would get to the point where BBattler is acting as Tohya with Virgilius - maybe even trying to lean into their shared past, acting more as Battler - and Virgilius catching on that something isn't quite right.
There's stigma against therapy in Japan, but I think after finding out about the system thing Virgilius would absolutely ask that Tohya go to therapy. Besides that, Virgilius would probably be somewhat hostile (or at least, colder than he is with Tohya) to BBattler at first, and ease up over time as he understands DID and BBattler better.
The Virgibato fic…THE VIRGIBATO FIC.

Going to assume you mean this one (NSFW) since it's the one I posted last night and the post-canon fic I have ongoing is virgitohya.
Glad you appreciate it :3 <3
Something about the combination of forcefem and emperor/consort and past batosayo with Battler's grief affecting his love for Virgilius and leading to him almost projecting Sayo onto Virgilius despite how different they are as people. Yeah.
