Virgin Wins Best Team Name
Virgin Racing, the team that later became Manor & Marussia, has won the award for Best F1 Team Name of the Decade.
“Virgin came inside F1 in 2010, having sponsored Brawn GP in 2009. Although they failed to score any points (or even finish higher than 14th) during their brief 2 season tenure, a brief glance at their name provides some much needed comic relief to the sometimes humour-celibate sport. Although HRT was a worthy contender, we decided to transition away from them.”
Virgin Racing finished 12th and last in the constructor’s in both of their seasons in the sport, before becoming Marussia in 2012.
When asked why Virgin had won the award, the head judge responded:
“You said Virgin”
