Tell me again how they hated each other and were not madly in love, despite their own personal accounts of it all being very much the latter.
I dare you.

I've read again that there is a biopic supposedly being made on Fred Astaire and this time I've also read that there is going to be a biopic on Fred&Ginger as well. As a big fan of them and their amazing work, as well as a fan of the 20s, 30s and 40s I can only say - may God protect us from both biopics definitively.
There are far too few colour promotional stills of these two out there.
I really like when Pinterest does these little 'random' things, I think it's so cute and I love it. ☺️💗
So I wanted to share them with you:
The text says "In every moment that touches us, there is a little piece of eternity." 😊
rascals!!! 😄
I know this may be tmi but everytime I'm looking at these wonderful dances by Fred&Ginger I can't help but wonder some things. This happened all in a time pre-deodorant. How did you manage...? 😳 Like, Fred&Ginger were dancing for hours on end, I know what it's like to dance for an hour and you're very sweaty, how did they manage 14 hour days like this without a shower in between or as I said, deodorant. I've heard some statements about this question during this time but as far as I can gather, you just kind of had to get used to more body odour more or less. The nose kind of tunes out the smell at some point. You can be clean all you want and I'm sure they were but without the means we have today, you just start to smell. Those dresses would smell awful after about 3 rounds of dancing, especially with the ruffles and feathers and elegant but impractical details. And Fred in 3-piece-suits, that gets hot and you sweat that through rather quickly. I guess as a dancer, you just got used to it after a while. 🤷♀️
And the other thing is that this is also a time before tampons as we know them today. I often wonder like...girl, how did you manage? This is strenuous work, how do you do that on your period, especially without the modern utensils for that time!? Aren't you worried there might be accidents and isn't it difficult to do a lot of movements while wearing a pad? I would be very uncomfortable with it. 😖 This is a topic of something that we know happened but it wasn't talked about, understandably.
I don't know, this is just something that occupies my mind sometimes while watching and I wish I were a little mouse, who could tell how it really went off camera. 🐀😉😁
Well Ginger Rogers is totally unmatched in so many things, I wouldn't even know where to start. She shines the brightest even in direct proximity with the other stars of her time. That is without question entirely but I wanted to check if somebody else kinda felt like there was a connection - is it just me or does Anne Francis kinda give Ginger Rogers vibes? 😯 I watched an episode of "Columbo" today and I had to look closer because she resembled her a bit in some ways, at least in this TV show. Her mannerisms, her features and she also has those exceptional blue eyes. Does anybody else see kind of a connection there? She did a great job in this episode by the way. 😊
I'm wondering not for the first time what Fred might've thought about Ginger in "Storm Warning" (1951). I'm pretty sure he saw all of her movies. It's unreal how beautiful she is there but it's also really graphic and hard to watch. I desperately need fanfiction about him watching her in that film (and what he might've done afterwards) !!!
So since I've been thinking about this and have tried to find an answer myself (which was pretty hard actually) , here is a question for ya :
What is your favourite Fred&Ginger movie?
Flying down to Rio (1933)
The Gay Divorcee (1934)
Roberta (1935)
Top Hat (1935)
Follow the Fleet (1936)
Swing Time (1936)
Shall we dance (1937)
Carefree (1938)
The story of Vernon and Irene Castle (1939)
The Barkleys of Broadway (1949)
