It comes out in a rush, the second the question is asked. No hesitation, no thought, just that, plain and simple. Cyan takes a shaky breath and laughs.

“There! I said it. God, it feels nice to get that out. I love Boss Giovanni. I love the way he walks, the way he holds himself.  I love the way he commands a room, like there is no one in there half as important as him, because it’s true. I love his smile and I love his frown. I love the way he holds me in his arms.I love his ambition and his drive. Hell, I even love when he’s being sarcastic and snarky at me!” he laughs and wipes at his eyes.

“A-and even if he never loves me back, I’ll be by his side. Because I love him, and love means I want him to flourish, and if that means me breaking a few skulls and stealing Pokemon, then damn it, I’ll do it.”

“He’s worth all of that and more.”

It was supposed to be a special night out, just the two of them (and a few choice bodyguards). A fancy restaurant, champagne and dim lights, dancing on the porch and then back to The Boss’s penthouse for a nice, not-so quiet time between the two of them.

Giovanni had been garnering attention as of late, but no one anticipated the sniper. Hell, no one had even seen the shimmer above the building to their right as they left the fancy car and walked toward the restaurant.

“Get down!”

No one except Cyan, and no one could ever say he didn’t move fast in heels. He nearly threw himself at the other man, wrapping his body around him to the best of his abilities. There was the feeling of Giovanni’s warm body against his front, then a piercing sting as something hit him in the back.

He wasn’t sure when he ended up on the ground, with Giovanni’s face in his, frantically commanding him to keep his eyes open, to stay with him, damn it, someone call an ambulance-

Cyan marveled at the way Giovanni looked, bathed in the light of the lanterns around them and then night sky. He’d been getting a few grays, he’d noticed. He wanted to kiss them at his temples, tell him he looked distinguished, just as perfect as when he met him.

Cyan smiled; If this is how he was going to die, wrapped in his love’s arms, in his best little black dress, then he would welcome it. 

“Gio....” he put a gloved hand to the man’s face, turned it toward him, so that he could get one last look, so that Giovanni could see him for him one last time. See the person that he helped him become, proud and so sure of himself.

“...Thank you for everything. I love you.”

               A tired sapphire gaze looks towards the lit screen of a phone, as Vexis tiredly lays in the large bed with his new born daughter next to him. The late time flashed in his vision as it had done so many times during this eventful night.

               He had dialed Giovanni’s number and erased it so many times between how long it took for him to throw a small bag together. One for himself, and another for Madison. Only enough to hold him off until they reached their destination. With a soft sigh he looks up to the ceiling of the room and closes his eyes happy to feel the rocking of the room as the ship they were currently on moved through the ocean.

                They had been on the move for a while now, and yet he could not bring himself to call his old friend. Part of it being his own pride to admitting how terrible his love life had truly been, and the other half of it being shame… Shame in dealing with it for so long.

               The sound of Madison letting out a tiny yawn has him opening his eyes again glancing to her and smiling. This choice had not been for him… it had been for her, and the future he wanted to give her.

               “Alright kiddo… I’ll do this for you.” Vexis whispers placing a soft kiss on her forehead before finally pushing the call button not giving his brain a chance to remind him just how late it was.

Hopefully… the mafia boss would answer.

The day at work had been a quiet one minus a few breaks here and there to allow himself ciggerrette and also give his kid a chance to get some energy out.

Lucky for him she was now happily sleeping under the spare desk he had turned into a make shift fort for her. A nice place for her to sleep or read in when they were cooped up in the office.

Vexis had his back turned to the door but looked over when he noticed his swampert shift her attention in that direction. Her tail thumpping against the ground excitedly.

“Aquarius what is it?” The scientist asks looking to the door to see Giovanni walking in. Of course it would be him. Who else did Aquarius ever get excited about?

“Gio!~” He calls out with a grin. “It’s rare for you to wander all the way down here. I’m usually the one that comes to pester you. What’s up?” he asks leaning against his desk and crossing his arms not bothering to be formal with the boss.

What was the point? Given the fact they had known one another for an incredibly long time.
