Saw that 'slicing, stabbing, gouging' gifset again, from the conversation between Emily and Jessie about the black rock, and I had a thought. Jessie spots Emily being suspicious, asks what she's got. Emily yells 'A KNIFE!' Jessie just says 'ok' and goes back to whatever she was doing. Arish is the one who has to be responsible (and it confuses Jessie)

PLEASE Arish is trying to give Emily the proper Bureau training course on weapons handling but shes SO eager and Arish is more than a little scared. Jesse is just like. In the background with her headphones on like “have fun!!!”

Raid boss idea: malicious Pixar lamp that tries to stomp the players. If you destroy it, it forces mitosis and now you've got more lamps to deal with. The solution is to trick their pathfinding and get them to stomp each other. Not sure how you deal with the final one though :/

Control multiplayer developers, notebooks out!

I would be interested to see a file on something like this. Having a FBC desk jockey trying to explain how a whole group of trained rangers got stepped on by a desk lamp and then swarmed by 50 baby lamps (Emily would have a field day).

So I'm kinda curious to see what you think of the theory that Dylan and Jesse might've originally been one person? I remember there was a hint at that in the game somewhere (outside of the lore entries, 'cause I never read them), although I don't remember where. I think I saw someone on Reddit suggest too that Alan Wake either created them or split the original person into Dylan and Jesse. Thoughts?

I’ve really not thought about this one much! I don’t subscribe to the idea that Alan could’ve created them-- I lie in the camp that thinks Alan can’t create something from nothing, but can guide, shape, and mold existing things, like clay. You can take away or shape it, but you can’t just create more. When Zane tried to do that, things went TERRIBLY wrong. So Alan has to work with what he has, and it has to make sense within the context of his story. So I definitely think Alan had a hand in some things (like the Hiss incantation), but I’m not even convinced he created the Hiss-- maybe he just gave it the script. So in my understanding, Alan has to work with the materials given-- he can edit, guide, suggest, but not invent.

HOWEVERRRR there’s a lot in play we also don’t know about, so I can’t say for certainty.

I’m of the belief that Dylan and Jesse were probably always different people/their own unique persons-- they both have memories they mention beyond the AWE in Ordinary. Jesse is a year older than Dylan. Then again, I’m not sure why they’d mention it, unless the writers are trying to allude or demonstrate something. Maybe it is true, maybe it’s true in a different dimension, maybe it’s just showing how the Hiss manipulates and flows through Dylan’s subconscious. Personally, I wouldn’t want them to go the route of Dylan and Jesse having been the same person, because I can’t really see how that would be like... satisfying from a story sense? But also I have ZERO clue what they have planned over there, so maybe if it is true, it’ll vibe?
