Okay, so. What's happening with Lark and Elmira now?
RIGHT NOW Elmira is using the Eye of Autochthon ON the Eye of Autochthon to try to wake it up into its form as Ramathus’ fetich soul, in the hopes she can start healing the Viator of Nullspace and get it and Ramathus sort of fused again? i think that’s what we’re trying to do.
RIGHT NOW Lark just shoved a tower the size of an ocean liner into the Viator’s eye socket, cracking the red lens it used to Godzilla beam attack us. he’s now using Soul-Projection to hop into its spiritual malaise the way he’s been hopping into Manus’ nightmares to defend him. inside is the Maker, small and frail, trying to get the Viator to respond to a set of levers and dials. he can’t control it anymore. Lark and Manus are prying the Maker out of his coffin-cockpit.
IN GENERAL Elmira has been making an impenetrable edifice out of Towersong and coming to the rescue of the entire North. Medo now hails her as its liberator, and the Saltspire League, Earthseat, and Towersong are all under her banner. Manus beckoned the Eye into existence, but Elmira has been its wielder, unlocking its hidden depths and using it to crazy potential in the war against the Bull and within Ramastan itself.
IN GENERAL Lark has been becoming outrageously powerful in brawl and sorcery. once again he was the first to the next layer of sorcery, and once again specializes in summoning, though now he’s summoning like, the Kukla. he’s been learning Righteous Devil from Thousand-Faceted Nelumbo, his Adamant girlfriend, and Elmira made him the ugliest goddamn gun, a flamethrower made from a Prince of the Fallen Tower and other gross stuff. it’s called Riot Hazard, and it is such a motherfucker.
tbh exos ought to be warm because machines in use are warm

here's a little game idea i've been thinking about for a while
you need:scissorsclear tapea small container(each player brings) at least one page of text from any source, all in the same font (default assumption size 12 times new roman)
each player cuts up their page to create strips of paper with interesting phrases, the maximum size being one sentence.
the starting player puts a number of their strips in the container equalling the number of players or 5, whichever is larger.
this container is passed around to each player in turn. at any time the container can hold 1.5 times the number of players in strips, rounding down (or 7, whichever is greater). each player is free to add strips up to this amount. they can take out any number of strips if they wish. they can also tape strips together to form longer phrases; any such compound strip only counts as one strip.
after each player takes their turn, the original player opens the container and everyone interprets the results as a time caspule of an ancient culture.

i’m not super solid on the exact rules...could use some tweaking, i think
tbh my forgeboy hewson would annoy the everlovin fuck out of your doctor masterson because he's a) unwilling to murder people for power unless absolutely necessary and more importantly, b) going on first name basis with everyone as much as possible, even with doctors, inspectors, lords and anyone else.
Oh my god, Hewson sounds like a delight.
Masterson’s just like I don’t have a first name. it’s JUST Masterson.
name for the fic: music of my veins; or the bloody corona; or: malachite eat your heart out
I like that last one
★★★★ for Jand Hand!
★ his one shameful collection is scented ointments, the kind he can dab on his jade and smell nice
★ he has written at least 9 books
★ he thinks he knows bird calls. he doesn’t
★ he’s terrified of his power. he’s terrified of how he uses his power
viridiansunlight replied to your post: aranea was the (vriska) of Beforus
also somehow managed to be even more evil than her descendant
i mean this is factually correct
I AM ALWAYS UP FOR FLEXING ON SERKETS. GET WRECKED, SPIDER SHITHEADS. What strikes you as Aranea being especially worse than Vriska? Of course, she started OUT as seeming pretty nice, but then one of her major defining characterization moments was her idolizing Mindfang.
FUCKING. MINDFANG.
The murderous, utterly self-absorbed, beacon of pure selfishness and who talks about her psychic torment of the Dolorosa with clear relish and sadistic delight
like Aranea started at rock bottom, looking at what Mindfang did, but damn if she didn’t find a shovel first.
at least Vriska has the excuse of being born into a world of pain and hate where compassion gets you killed and children are executed for not being murderous enough; they genuinely had no idea that huamne ideas were a THING (including the ones who kind of walked backwards into the idea without realizing it); she genuinely didn’t understand compassion until she met John and it threw her for a loop.
She still does unspeakable evil, though, so it doesn’t give her THAT much pause.
