@virilitas: ❛ 27 . a kiss to end the sexual tension .
In the time Pierce had been in Donny's life, he never knew the kid to be very, well... smart. His plucky, go-getter attitude had its benefits, but the older and more cynical Donny got —especially after his firing— the less quaint or cute it got. It actually pissed him off, how eagerly Pierce was willing to risk his career for the sake of Donny's sadsack self.
Donny was a lost cause. Pierce still had something to live for.
So even as these secret, shadowy meetings in the same multi-level garage continued, Donny wondered if he should leave town altogether and become a homeless drifter. A clean break from everything, Pierce included.
But he knew he couldn't do that. He loved Pierce. As a friend, as a brother, as an uncle to his child, as... something else, perhaps. Not that he ever wanted to admit that. But Donny had a reputation for his short fuse when things didn't go his way.
He wanted Pierce to stop. But Pierce, ever the fuckin' boy scout, had other plans.
"You are so fucking stupid Pierce, dear God—" ranted Donny, nearly punching the concrete wall behind him in frustration when Piece handed him some unsolicited documents about a case he was following independently. "You gotta stop doing this. No more helping me. You are so—"
And then, in an unexpected turn of events, Donny pulls Pierce into a searing, lingering, passionate kiss, grabbing his head firmly in his hands as their lips met, finally ending years of unbearable sexual tension. Sexual tension Donny had a pretty good feeling was mutual.
"I—" he begins, bereft. "I'm sorry, I should't have done that. That was... that was stupid."
